The collection emerged out of a visual fascination with cutting clay with a wire cutter. The process of cutting clay with a wire cutter became an exercise in itself. an expanding technique in which we explored the possibilities of the functional and sculptural qualities of the technique.

The texture, the imperfection, the tension between serendipity and craftsmanship. What began as a playful experiment has grown into a expanding collection.

Fringe is a tableware collection with a tactile apperance that enhances a multi-sensory and culinary experience. the look is rough yet refined in its finish.

the tableware is handmade in our studio in the Netherlands and is made of high-quality porcelain. the tableware can be washed in the dishwasher but you keep the tableware most beautiful in the long term if you wash it by hand.
Together with Vitra NL, we brought design and gastronomy into perfect harmony during a private dinner event, elevated by delicious art served by Voertaal Studio.​ More info following soon.​
